Songs for Salzburg Cathedral

Seattle Girls’ Choir Bon Voyage Concert
Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 7:30pm
St. James Cathedral, 804 Ninth Avenue, Seattle

The Seattle Girls’ Choir senior-level choir, Prime Voci, has been invited to sing for the opening concert of the 2009 Salzburg Festival, in Salzburg, Austria.

The festival, which began in 1920, is the world’s premier festival for opera, drama and classical music. There are over 180 concerts, plays and operas over a two month period.
The Opening Night Concert will be held July 25, 2009, at the Salzburg Dom.
This magnificent 17th century Baroque cathedral is where court organist and concert master, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed numerous undying works of sacred music for Salzburg.

Before setting off for their European tour, Prime Voci will perform on Sunday, July 12, at 7:30 PM in Seattle’s St. James Cathedral. The concert will include the opening program planned for the Salzburg Festival and other sacred selections from the tour repertoire.

The choir invites Seattle’s lovers of classical music to put this concert on their calendars
and to enjoy an afternoon of soaring treble voices in our own stunning cathedral.
